Efficient water distribution in Dushanbe, Tajikistan
The city of Dushanbe often suffers from lack of water due to failures of the pumping stations. Inadequate location of water pumping stations means that the water supply tanks are not an integral part of the network system. Val di Susa faced the challenge of ensuring sufficient water capacity to meet future water demand. As the host for the Winter Olympic Games in 2006, the need for water would increase pressure on the water distribution network capacity.
